Om Shamno Mitra Sham Varunah
Breath is Truth
This mantra invokes blessings from powerful Hindu deities and points to the manifestation of the divine in the individual as being expressed by the breath itself. Breath sustains life and like the explanation of Brahman, the everlasting cosmic being or consciousness, breath is there, even unnoticed, even without willing or controlling, still sustaining you. Breath is the perfect object for meditation because of this connection to sustaining your physical being. The easiest way to control the mind is to control the breath. Chanting this mantra can bring positive energies and ideas into your life and remind you to be more aware of your breath as the manifestation of your soul.
