Sajeeva Yoga
Sajeeva is the Sanskrit word that means Alive. The biggest context of your life is... that you are alive! So Ham. So-ham is the mantra of the breath. So Ham is the mantra of "I am". Sajeeva yoga is learning to be alive consciously. It is yoga for enlightened living.
Sajeeva yoga practice style is a fusion of classic kriya and pranayama, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga. The beginning sequences and warm up approach is very accessible and suitable for a wide variety of needs for many kinds of people and the foresight of meditation is always present.
Learn alignment principles, sequences, and techniques for hundreds of poses from classical yoga practices and beyond.
Sajeeva asana methodology teaches about progression and how to create suitable challenge and intensity in practice by choice of asana or variation, duration of holds, and repetitions of vinyasa to stimulate development while delivering heartfelt life lessons that apply to all. We embrace and explore yogic ideals such as equality, non-ego, self-less serving, and loving kindness.
Progression & Sequence Examples
The purpose of Sajeeva Yoga School is to share a beneficial and welcoming practice for everyone, supporting you from whatever walk of life you come from and growing together to our fullest potential for the benefit of All. True yoga must be scientific in this mission. That is, understood as a universal method that can be applied and works to holistically balance the individual regardless of cultural background or personal beliefs. In fact educated yoga practice also enhances these other aspects of life such as ones own religious practices. Simultaneously our school recognizes and utilizes classic forms and symbols for meditation and yoga practice from ancient Indian, Taoist, and Tibetan systems of yoga. We also use examples from other cultures to show the connection between various cultures' practices and rituals for their primary function in harmonizing and awakening human consciousness.
Sajeeva Yoga Teacher Training equips you with the knowledge and skills to inspire yourself and students deeper into expanding consciousness and developing their skills at enhancing the experience of living. This is the science and art of self development and self-realisation which culminates in profound bliss, which comes from inner connection.

1 Month Yoga Immersion - 6 Days a week for 4 weeks
Practice
This one month course is designed to give you rich experience of the practices of Yoga. There will be a strong emphasis on foundation and progression theory and balance of physical and meditative practices. You will be treated like a beginner, especially in the first week. The foundation will show you that even basic poses and techniques practiced with the correct attitude and intensity can lead to a profound experience and blissful shavasana. You will learn Sajeeva Yoga sequences that highlight various themes and topics, and also learn the theory you can use to design your own practice and themes. As the course progresses, pose and exercise variations will be given for each student to be challenged and motivated to explore deeper. By the end of the course we will have longer practices with more emphasis on challenging or complex asana, pranayama, and longer meditations.
Teaching
You will practice teaching from the first week of the course. First the individual elements that make up a typical Hatha yoga class, then whole classes. Each teaching element will have lessons and examples, objectives to aim towards, and also come synchronised with what you are practicing and learning about in anatomy or philosophy. After teaching you will receive feedback from your teachers and peers. This is valuable!
Progression theory teaches you how to give options throughout your classes so that everyone feels included and engaged. There will be workshops on using props, giving intelligent adjustments, teaching large groups or private lessons. Yoga philosophy will inform you about how to teach ethically, respecting the journey of your students, while expanding your understanding of how to point people towards freedom. Everything is about connections, so you will also learn the best ways to reach out to potential students with your character and skills through real life situations and social media, work free lance or with studios, and organise or co-host events. Teaching yoga can provide more purpose to your life and others. With dedication to the practice and a service heart it can also become an amazing career of freedom, blessings, and love.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much Yoga practice experience do I need to join the course?
Having at least 1-2 years of sustained practice is ideal before taking a teacher training in a 1 month full immersion. First, being familiar with yogic terms and the basics of practice will make the course a much deeper experience. You will be able to focus more easily in practice, and use your familiarity of terms to make learning to teach more natural. Those who do not intend to teach Yoga or have less experience are also welcome to join the course with their genuine curiosity, interest, or devotion. By practicing Yoga, we are also sharing a way of life that shines through people just by the effects of practice on our relations, and this too is a kind of teaching.
Is the style of Sajeeva Yoga practice more "hard" or "soft"?
Both! All physical yoga practices are called Hatha Yoga...which means merging the opposites. To do so it will be useful to have an experience of the two ends of the spectrum. Some sessions will be yin, some yang. Most will be a balance of both. The world of experience is open to us! Different types of practice suit different needs, moods, and objectives... which as with all things...will change throughout your life.
How does Yoga Alliance registration work?
Yoga Alliance is a certifying organisation. They set standards for courses and different levels or types of experience for teachers. Sajeeva 200hr teacher training is registered with Yoga Alliance for meeting it's standards for a 200 hour course(and exceeding them). After graduating Sajeeva Yoga teacher training, you will have the blessings of Sajeeva Yoga School to teach yoga, but if you want to use a Yoga Alliance "200 hours yoga teacher" mark you will need to register with a yearly fee, and answer some questions to verify that Sajeeva Yoga teacher training has fulfilled Yoga Alliance's standards. Some Yoga studios look for, or require this registration as a way of proving you have been adequately trained. Other places will just look for knowledgeable and professional teachers or hire through networks. YA also provides services and resources to registered teachers. You can find out more about it at their website.
