Teaching
You will practice teaching from the first week of the course. First the individual elements that make up a typical Hatha yoga class, then whole classes. Each teaching element will have lessons and examples, objectives to aim towards, and also come synchronised with what you are practicing and learning about in anatomy or philosophy. After teaching you will receive feedback from your teachers and peers. This is valuable! Progression theory teaches you how to give options throughout your classes so that everyone feels included and engaged. There will be workshops on using props, giving intelligent adjustments, teaching large groups or private lessons.Yoga philosophy will inform you about how to teach ethically, respecting the journey of your students, while expanding your understanding of how to point people towards freedom. Everything is about connections, so you will also learn the best ways to reach out to potential students with your character and skills through real life situations and social media, work free lance or with studios, and organise or co-host events. Teaching yoga can provide more purpose to your life and others. With dedication to the practice and a service heart it can also become an amazing career of freedom, blessings, and love.

Meet the Teachers
George Anthony - Lead Teacher
Practice, Teaching Methodology and Philosophy George Anthony is the director of Sajeeva Yoga School. He has made yoga an intimate study in every aspect of his life since he began practicing yoga asana in 2006. He started from an innate urge to change something while feeling unfilled in American university. Using pictures and descriptions of yoga poses from the internet, he worked hard and transformed from a lazy american college student to become a dedicated Yogi, teacher, and uplifting person. He set out with intentions to realize his potential, share Yogic knowledge, a healthy lifestyle, and a perspective of one-ness. In 2008 George travelled to Thailand, and became certified as a Vinyasa yoga teacher in 2009 at highly acclaimed Yoga Elements Studio, Bangkok. After, he taught extensively in Y.E.S. and other Bangkok studios, wrote course materials and assisted in the G-Mind yoga teacher training courses, organized retreats, taught at numerous resorts, private homes, yoga festivals, suburban healing spaces, and public parks all over South East Asia. In 2012 he wrote course material for Vikasa Yoga school and became resident assistant teacher for Vikasa Yoga teacher trainings. He currently works with Vikasa Yoga and is based on Koh Samui in Thailand. George has taught over 10,000 hours and is highly regarded as a genuine yoga teacher. He is friendly and approachable with a nothing-too-serious attitude for sharing the joy and calm of Yoga with all his students.
George lives as a yogi with regular practice and meditation, on-going scriptural and self study, compassion based lifestyle, and acts of service. |

Frequently Asked Questions
How much Yoga practice experience do I need to join the course?
Having at least 1-2 years of sustained practice is ideal before taking a teacher training in a 1 month full immersion. First, being familiar with yogic terms and the basics of practice will make the course a much deeper experience. You will be able to focus more easily in practice, and use your familiarity of terms to make learning to teach more natural. Those who do not intend to teach Yoga or have less experience are also welcome to join the course with their genuine curiosity, interest, or devotion. By practicing Yoga, we are also sharing a way of life that shines through people just by the effects of practice on our relations, and this too is a kind of teaching.
Is the style of Sajeeva Yoga practice more "hard" or "soft"?
Both! All physical yoga practices are called Hatha Yoga...which means merging the opposites. To do so it will be useful to have an experience of the two ends of the spectrum. Some sessions will be yin, some yang. Most will be a balance of both. The world of experience is open to us! Different types of practice suit different needs, moods, and objectives... which as with all things...will change throughout your life.
How does Yoga Alliance registration work?
Yoga Alliance is a certifying organisation. They set standards for courses and different levels or types of experience for teachers. Sajeeva 200hr teacher training is registered with Yoga Alliance for meeting it's standards for a 200 hour course(and exceeding them). After graduating Sajeeva Yoga teacher training, you will have the blessings of Sajeeva Yoga School to teach yoga, but if you want to use a Yoga Alliance "200 hours yoga teacher" mark you will need to register with a yearly fee, and answer some questions to verify that Sajeeva Yoga teacher training has fulfilled Yoga Alliance's standards. Some Yoga studios look for, or require this registration as a way of proving you have been adequately trained. Other places will just look for knowledgeable and professional teachers or hire through networks.
YA also provides services and resources to registered teachers. You can find out more about it at their website.
